Lake Hornborga is perhaps Sweden’s most well-known bird lake. Every spring, thousands of cranes gather and dance here. But Lake Hornborga offers more than only crane dancing. All year round, unique nature and experiences await you here.

At Lake Hornborga, you will find two visitor centres. Naturum Hornborgasjön is the largest, and is located on the east side next to Café Doppingen. In the southern part of the lake you will find the Trandansen Info Centre, which is open when the cranes gather here in the spring. In both places you will find information about the lake and nature, WCs and parking. At Naturum Hornborgasjön you can look forward to meeting knowledgeable guides and finding a variety of activities for children.

Lake Hornborga is famous for its cranes. They have most likely been passing by the lake for thousands of years. During the spring the cranes cogregate at the south end of the lake at a spot conveniently calles Trandansen (crane dance). Are you planning to visit the area? We have gathered some information that might come in handy. In the table you can see how many cranes that have been counted in the area.
